About Angela

Black Earth Jewelry is a one-woman show run by me, Angela. Founded in 2019, silversmithing began as a simple hobby. I have always been a jewelry lover- usually adorned head to toe in earrings, necklaces, nose rings, rings, and toe rings. As a self-taught smith, I found my way into the art after months of watching my favorite smiths on YouTube, reading silversmithing books, chatting with my silversmith and goldsmith friends, and analyzing photos online. A lot of trial and serious error has gotten me to where I am today, and I am thankful for every step in this journey.

My art is currently inspired by organic shapes and symbols, nature, light, spirit, and my cultural roots. As a Reiki Healer I find myself drawn to many grounding and uplifting stones and motifs which can be found in my work. I look at each piece I create not only as an opportunity to create something beautiful, but a series of lessons that I am consistently humbled by. I am thankful for the people in my life who support me and my work relentlessly, and I am thankful for the other artists that have paved the way for makers such as myself.
